The mechanization of the foundry, moulding machines play an important part in modern practice. There are many types and makes of machines, all of which have their particular application. The use of machines in the foundry has made it possible for the industry to compete on a sound basis with other trades, such as steel and brass stamping, bakelite and similar plastic moulding. A moulding machine is a machine for producing moulds by applied mechanics.The objects are to eliminate manual fatigue andremove the necessity for scill in producing a good mould. With the simpler types of machines these objects are only partially attained and a certain amount of energy and skill are still necessary to obtain efficient outputs. |
